A well-established food manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of H&S across multiple sites. This is a hands-on role for somebody who enjoys being visible on-site, improving standards, influencing people and driving a strong safety culture across the business. The company has 2 manufacturing sites alongside a large network of retail locations, so this role offers plenty of variety and autonomy. They need somebody confident enough to challenge where needed, work independently and take real responsibility for Health & Safety across the operation. This is not a junior advisor or admin-focused role.
The Role:
- Managing Health & Safety across manufacturing and retail sites
- Carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments
- Managing COSHH, PPE, manual handling and safe systems of work
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses
- Driving corrective actions and improving site standards
- Supporting managers and holding teams accountable for H&S
- Delivering Health & Safety training and improving awareness
- Leading H&S meetings and reporting on performance/trends
- Supporting compliance with all Health & Safety legislation
- Regular site visits across the region
What They’re Looking For:
- Previous Health & Safety experience within manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Someone hands-on, proactive and confident on-site
- Able to influence people and challenge where needed
- Experience carrying out audits, investigations and risk assessments
- Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Full UK driving licence required
