Are you a driven technical leader ready to take ownership of food safety, quality and compliance in a fast-paced, multi-channel food environment? We are looking for an ambitious Technical Manager to lead from the front, ensuring audit excellence, driving continuous improvement, and supporting operations across production, travel and events.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the technical function, coaching and mentoring your team to deliver exceptional standards across food safety, quality and compliance.
- Act as the technical authority across the business, supporting Production, NPD, Travel and Events teams to ensure operational excellence and full regulatory compliance.
- Own audit readiness and delivery, leading BRCGS and SALSA audits, customer visits and inspections with confidence and precision.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, working cross-functionally to enhance QMS, GMP standards and product integrity.
- Manage customer complaints end-to-end, leading root cause analysis and implementing robust corrective and preventative actions.
- Oversee food safety systems, including HACCP, environmental monitoring, swabbing programmes and shelf-life validation.
- Conduct internal audits and verification activities, ensuring systems are effective, compliant and consistently audit-ready.
- Champion food safety training and engagement, embedding best practice across all teams and creating a proactive compliance culture.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Technical or Quality leadership role within food manufacturing (high care/high risk/RTE environments preferred).
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, SALSA, HACCP and UK food safety legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
