Location - Hampshire
We are pleased to be partnering with a rapidly expanding FMCG manufacturer to appoint an Engineering Manager. This is a key leadership role, driving site performance, embedding continuous improvement, and supporting the business through an exciting growth phase.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering function, overseeing maintenance, capital projects, site infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximise operational efficiency and reliability.
- Manage and develop the engineering team through performance reviews, clear objectives, and structured training aligned with business needs and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements, conducting risk assessments and liaising with authorities and external stakeholders as required.
- Deliver automation and improvement projects on time and within budget, enhancing productivity, reducing downtime, and supporting long-term manufacturing performance goals.
- Implement environmental and sustainability initiatives to reduce site carbon footprint while maintaining robust preventative maintenance systems for optimal equipment performance.
- Oversee specification, installation, and refurbishment of machinery, supporting product development processes and improving throughput, efficiency, and operational capability.
- Monitor KPIs including downtime and efficiency, manage contractors and spare parts, and support production planning to meet customer demand effectively.
Requirements:
- Hold an engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND, or BTEC.
- Previous experience in a similar position (e.g. Engineering Maintenance Manager, Plant Engineering Manager, Factory Engineering Manager) would be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrate proven experience leading and developing engineering teams, with the ability to motivate, coach, and build strong team performance.
- Possess experience working within FMCG environments, ideally within food manufacturing, with understanding of industry standards, compliance, and operational pressures.
- Have strong knowledge of high-speed production and packing lines, including maintenance strategies, fault finding, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Show strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
