This is an exciting opportunity at a fast-growing food distribution business operating a high-volume co-packing unit. With the division growing year on year, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic FMCG environment. This is a challenging position but also exceptionally rewarding for the right individual.
As Production Manager, you will take full responsibility for ensuring all co-packing operations are delivered safely, efficiently and on time. You will plan, organise and oversee daily production activities, ensuring customer requirements are met, quality standards are achieved, and the workflow runs smoothly. A key part of the role is leading, coaching and motivating a team of around 30 operatives and 3 direct reports, and driving a culture of continuous improvement, productivity and accountability.
You will be instrumental in implementing and managing KPIs, improving throughput, reducing waste, enhancing cost control, and maintaining compliance with food safety, BRC and H&S standards. You will also oversee training, recruitment, equipment upkeep, inventory accuracy and production planning to support the business's continued growth.
Ideal Candidate- 3-5 years' experience managing a production operation within FMCG/food manufacturing
- Strong leadership abilities with the confidence to manage, coach and develop teams
- Proven track record of hitting production KPIs, maximising productivity and improving performance
- Excellent understanding of food safety, H&S, and compliance requirements (BRC/HACCP desirable)
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills with experience in cost control and budget management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers
- A CI mindset with the ability to reduce waste and drive efficiency
