We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading FMCG Manufacturer in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced engineers to join a well-established manufacturer, operating in a high-speed, high-volume environment. These roles are essential to maintaining production performance and driving continuous improvements across the site.
Location: Northampton
Salary: £46,000 - £53,500
Shift Pattern: PANAMA Days and Nights
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs across electrical and mechanical systems to minimise production downtime.
- Take a hands-on approach in both scheduled maintenance and immediate breakdown response.
- Maintain, optimise, and repair a range of equipment including slicing systems, seasoning units, conveyors, and automated packaging lines.
- Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives to increase machine efficiency and reduce unplanned stoppages.
- Work closely with operations and production teams to ensure smooth running of equipment and minimal disruption.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and internal maintenance procedures at all times.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong hands-on experience working with both electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Experience in a similar role such as multi-skilled engineer, shift engineer, shift technician, engineering technician, electrical maintenance engineer.
- Practical knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting automated machinery, particularly in packaging or food processing environments (preferred but not essential).
- Confidence in reacting to breakdowns as well as carrying out preventative maintenance tasks.
