An established and highly successful Foodservice business is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead its busy transport operation from its West London site.
Reporting into the senior operational team, you will take overall responsibility for the safe, compliant, efficient and customer-focused operation of the Transport Department, leading a team of 45+ drivers, supervisors and transport support staff to deliver consistently high levels of service.
You will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day transport operation, overseeing route planning, driver and vehicle allocation, multi-drop deliveries, fleet compliance and customer SLAs.
Working closely with Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, HR and Senior Management, you will drive operational efficiency, develop high-performing teams and identify opportunities to improve productivity, service and transport costs.

Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a Transport Manager or in a senior transport management position, ideally within Foodservice, FMCG or multi-temperature distribution.
Experience managing a transport operation with 45+ drivers and supervisory/support staff.
CPC / Transport Manager CPC (Essential).
Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, HGV operations, driver compliance and Operator Licence requirements.
Demonstrable experience managing multi-drop routing, delivery windows, vehicle utilisation and fleet compliance.
Strong understanding of transport KPIs, including service levels, on-time delivery, driver performance, fleet utilisation and costs.
Commercially aware, with the ability to balance exceptional customer service with labour, overtime, fleet and operational costs.
Proven people leadership skills, with experience managing performance, absence, recruitment, training and development.
A hands-on, proactive and solutions-focused approach, with strong organisational, communication and IT skills.
Experience implementing new systems, processes and ways of working, with the ability to engage and influence drivers and supervisors.
