An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading UK food business for a Senior Logistics Coordinator. This is a key role within the Supply Chain department and will be pivotal in ensuring trade compliance, managing import documentation, and supporting international logistics operations.
This role will work closely with your Line Manager, as well as senior stakeholders across the business, to manage import licences, quotas, and ensure regulatory compliance for the movement of food products across international borders. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of goods across the UK and EU, supporting the wider logistics team and business units in managing critical documentation, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the logistics team and business units with imports, shipping, and transport processes.
- Managing the administration of import quotas and licences for importing POAO (Products of Animal Origin) from third countries.
- Coordinating applications and renewals for licences and quotas, working closely with finance on bank guarantee requirements.
- Monitoring import shipments and controlling documentation for goods entering EU ports.
- Ensuring compliance with Port Health and regulatory clearances, including IPAFFS declarations.
- Developing efficient reporting mechanisms for quota vs. performance.
- Creating and maintaining robust document management policies for all UK imports.
- Supporting audit processes, with a focus on documentation control and regulatory compliance.
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong experience in international shipping, logistics, and trade compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with import licences, quotas, and documentation management.
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communicator and relationship builder, comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in logistics or international trade within the food, FMCG, or related sectors.
- Resilient, tenacious, and comfortable working to strict deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Qualifications in shipping or logistics are desirable.
