The Role:
We are looking for a technical employment lawyer to join our national employment team and work with us on the extensive range of services we provide. The national team is headed up by Andrew Davidson who is a leading employment lawyer with many years of experience across the public sector, more specifically the NHS. You will be able to gain an insight into all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious employment work and have a real opportunity to develop your career with Hempsons. This role can be based in any of our 5 offices; London, Manchester, Harrogate, Newcastle or Southampton.
The Team:
Our Employment team operate on a national basis across several of our offices, predominantly across our London, Manchester and Harrogate offices and offer an exceptional depth of knowledge and experience of the health and social care sectors. With long-standing clients across the entire health and social care spectrum, we advise providers, commissioners, regulators and policy makers; providing robust, actionable and knowledgeable advice quickly across the full range of services our clients need.
Skills and Competencies:
We would expect the post holder to be qualified solicitor, ideally 3 to 5 PQE + Experience of advising clients in the health, social care and third sector organisations. Experience of the NHS would be advantageous but not essential. Must have experience working on tribunal claims and other contentious matters and an ability to undertake the day-to-day conduct of ET litigation files is essential. Ability to supervise junior lawyers and able to delegate work to other fee earners and ensure capacity levels are optimised; you will take an active role in supervising the work of and assisting in the development of trainees and solicitor apprentices. Excellent business development and marketing skills; you will have the support from our dedicated Client Services/Marketing team to do so.
