Put finance at the heart of commercial decision making. Crown Paints has been part of homes, businesses and communities for nearly 250 years. Today, we’re one of the UK’s best known paint brands and part of the Hempel Group. We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join Crown Paints and work closely with our Commercial Leadership teams across Retail and Trade.

This is a highly visible role for someone who wants to do more than report performance. You’ll help shape it.

Tell the story behind the numbers

You’ll work closely with senior commercial leaders to understand what is driving the numbers, where the opportunities are and what needs to happen next. You’ll bring together commercial thinking, financial insight and challenge across areas including:

  • Sales and margin performance
  • Pricing and promotions
  • Customer and product profitability
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Business cases and investment decisions
  • Long term commercial planning

You’ll turn complex information into clear, practical recommendations that help the business move quickly and confidently.

Be the person who asks the next question

We want someone who is naturally curious. Someone who doesn’t stop at what happened, but wants to understand why it happened and what we can do differently. You’ll challenge assumptions, spot trends and help teams make stronger commercial decisions.

Day to day, that will mean:

  • Partnering with senior leaders across Retail, Trade, Sales and Marketing
  • Identifying risks and opportunities in performance
  • Leading commercial reviews and deeper analysis
  • Building financial models and business cases
  • Improving reporting and analytics
  • Helping make financial insight easier to understand and act on
  • Leading and driving transformation projects within the finance department

Bring commercial thinking to the table

This role will suit someone who can move comfortably between detail and the bigger picture. You’ll ideally bring strong experience within Commercial Finance or Finance Business Partnering, alongside:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent professional qualification
  • Project management and transformation within a complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of pricing, margin and profitability
  • Excellent analytical capability
  • Confidence working with and challenging senior stakeholders
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and commercial planning
  • Strong Excel skills, with BI or analytics experience beneficial
  • The ability to build strong relationships across a fast paced business

Experience within retail, FMCG, manufacturing, consumer goods or another multi channel environment would be useful, but we’re open to different backgrounds and perspectives.

Have a real voice in where we go next

This is an opportunity to influence commercial decision making across Crown Paints and work closely with the people shaping the future of the business. You’ll help us understand not only what is happening, but why, what it means and where we should focus next.

If you enjoy getting close to the business, challenging the numbers and turning insight into action, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and help shape what comes next for Crown Paints.
