Join to apply for the Regional Operations Manager - CDC East Midlands role at Hempel A/S. Lead, inspire, and grow a network of stores across the East Midlands, driving sales performance, operational excellence, and a winning team culture. Are you a commercially minded leader who thrives on turning potential into performance? Do you love being in the thick of it — coaching, challenging, and empowering people to achieve more than they thought possible? At Crown Paints, we’re looking for a Regional Operations Manager who combines commercial acumen with people leadership to deliver exceptional results across our store network in the East Midlands. This is a key role for someone ready to make a visible impact — driving profitability, shaping future growth, and ensuring every store operates with the discipline, energy, and pride that define the Hempel and Crown brands.
What will you be doing? As our Regional Operations Manager, you’ll lead a region of Crown Paints stores — ensuring each site performs at its best and every Store Manager is set up for success. You’ll play a pivotal part in aligning your region to our National Operations Management’s strategy: building a network of profitable, engaged stores that embody consistency, belief, and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Store Managers, creating a high‑performing, customer‑focused team that delivers commercial success.
- Drive sales growth and profitability across multiple sites — managing budgets, P&L, stock levels, and pricing for your region.
- Maximise commercial impact by making smart, data‑led decisions on resource allocation and investment.
- Coach and develop your team, fostering a winning culture and clear succession plans to grow internal talent.
- Identify underperformance early and provide the right support to help people thrive.
- Bring the national strategy to life regionally, securing buy‑in from stores and aligning short‑term action with long‑term growth goals.
- Collaborate with Trade Sales, Specification, and Marketing teams to deliver shared business objectives and customer excellence.
You’ll know you’ve succeeded when your region consistently hits its sales and profitability goals, your teams feel motivated and supported, and your stores are recognised as operationally excellent and commercially strong.
What experience will help you succeed?
- Proven track record of multi‑site sales leadership, ideally in a trade or B2B environment.
- Strong commercial and operational acumen — delivering profit, ROI, and growth through data‑driven decision‑making.
- Experience managing regional P&L, budgets, and stock to optimise performance.
- Skilled in coaching and developing leaders, with a hands‑on approach and presence in‑store.
- Ability to translate national strategies into regional success stories, bringing consistency, belief, and discipline to every store.
- Innovative problem‑solver who identifies challenges, seizes opportunities, and acts quickly to implement change.
- Committed to building diverse, inclusive teams where every individual’s strengths are recognised and developed.
What kind of leader will thrive here? You’ll be a hands‑on, visible leader, the face of your region, who’s happiest out in stores, building relationships, and helping your team overcome challenges.
You’ll Succeed By:
- Inspiring belief and energy in others.
- Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
- Recognising and developing talent across your region.
- Leading with authenticity and inclusivity — valuing diverse perspectives and experiences to strengthen your team.
What’s in it for you? We Offer a Competitive Rewards Package That Includes:
- Competitive salary, annual bonus scheme, and company car.
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- A generous pension plan where we’ll match — or even double — your contribution.
- Product discounts and wellbeing benefits to support your lifestyle.
