Role Summary
This is a key role within the marketing team, responsible for planning, delivering and optimising marketing activity for Executive Hire Show and Executive Hire News. Working closely with the Marketing Director, Group Exhibitions Director, Event Director and Editorial Lead, the Marketing Manager will support audience growth, event registrations, newsletter subscriptions, engagement and commercial objectives across both brands. The role combines campaign delivery, audience development, digital marketing and content promotion to support the continued growth of Executive Hire Show and Executive Hire News.
Primary Objectives
- Own and deliver the annual marketing strategy for Executive Hire Show and Executive Hire News.
- Drive measurable audience growth, event registrations, newsletter subscriptions and engagement.
- Own marketing contribution to commercial lead generation and revenue growth.
- Develop and optimise audience acquisition, conversion and retention strategies.
- Manage marketing budgets, performance reporting and return on investment.
- Ensure all marketing activity is insight-led, commercially focused and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver annual marketing plans aligned to audience, commercial and revenue targets.
- Use market insight, audience analysis and competitor intelligence to identify growth opportunities.
- Contribute to wider business planning and strategic development of both brands.
Campaign Delivery
- Own the planning, execution and optimisation of all marketing campaigns across events, media and digital products.
- Deliver campaigns to drive event registrations, newsletter subscriptions, audience engagement and commercial enquiries.
- Ensure campaigns are continuously evaluated and optimised against agreed performance targets.
- Develop marketing campaigns for new features, related launches and roadshows.
Audience Development & Data Management
- Build and maintain a comprehensive audience development strategy across exhibitors, visitors, subscribers and commercial stakeholders.
- Develop audience segmentation and targeting strategies to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Identify new audience acquisition opportunities through data, partnerships and market insight.
Marketing Automation & CRM
- Manage and optimise HubSpot CRM, workflows, automation, segmentation and reporting.
- Ensure database integrity, list hygiene and effective tagging in collaboration with data team.
- Develop automated customer journeys to improve acquisition, engagement and retention.
Email Marketing
- Oversee the creation, testing and optimisation of high-performing email campaigns.
- Ensure messaging is targeted, benefits-led and conversion-focused.
- Drive continuous improvement in engagement and conversion metrics.
Content, Brand & Communications
- Own the integrated marketing and content calendar across Executive Hire Show and Executive Hire News.
- Work closely with editorial to maximise content reach, audience engagement and subscription growth.
- Produce marketing copy and campaign assets across email, web, social media and event channels.
- Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across all activity.
Website, Digital & Social Media
- Ensure websites remain up to date, user-focused and optimised for SEO, conversion and data capture.
- Plan, manage and optimise social media and digital marketing activity.
- Drive audience growth and engagement through organic and paid digital channels.
Commercial Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Develop and manage relationships with media partners, associations and industry organisations.
- Support sponsorship marketing fulfilment and partner activation programmes.
- Work closely with commercial and event teams to maximise marketing contribution to revenue growth.
Analysis, Reporting & Budget Management
- Own reporting across all marketing activity, providing clear insight into performance, ROI and future opportunities.
- Produce regular reporting and campaign analysis, providing insight into performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring investment aligns with agreed priorities and growth targets.
Person Specification
- 3+ years' experience in a senior marketing executive or marketing manager role within a B2B trade shows, exhibitions or events.
- Proven experience delivering integrated marketing strategies with clear commercial outcomes.
- Strong understanding of audience development, customer acquisition and campaign optimisation.
- Experience using CRM and marketing automation platforms, ideally HubSpot.
- Commercially aware with an understanding of how marketing contributes to business objectives.
- Excellent copywriting and communication skills across email, web and social media.
- Experience using marketing analytics and reporting tools to drive decision-making.
- Highly organised with strong planning, prioritisation and analytical capabilities.
- Proactive, ambitious and results-driven with a solutions-focused approach.
- Experience within exhibitions, events, publishing or audience-led businesses required.
