Hemma Social is a new family café and soft play space opening at 14 Tandy Place, East Village, Stratford, around 16–18 November 2026. Our daytime menu includes bowls, warm flatbreads, sandwiches, cheesecake and food for children. We need an experienced, hands-on café cook to take responsibility for morning prep and cooking, finishing and serving food throughout their shift in our compact kitchen. Plan and complete morning prep for the day, following our recipes and agreed quantities. Cook or finish menu items, assemble and send out food orders during breakfast and lunch service. Top up prep as demand changes and keep the kitchen ready throughout your shift. Manage portions, labels, stock rotation, temperature checks and allergens. Wash up and maintain a clean, organised kitchen and safe food-storage routines. Work alongside the owner, café all-rounder and barista; show teammates the safe assembly steps they may help with. Leave a clear handover and prepared components for colleagues serving outside your shift. Help establish practical prep quantities and kitchen routines during paid pre-opening setup. You should have run prep and service in a café, brunch kitchen, deli or similar food operation. We value strong food-safety and allergen knowledge, tidy working habits, independence and the ability to adapt when demand changes. Pay is £16–£17 per hour base, depending on experience, for around 35–40 paid hours a week. This is a permanent, on-site role with mainly morning and daytime shifts including weekends. Paid pre-opening setup is expected in early November, ahead of our target opening around 16–18 November 2026. Workplace: Hemma Social, 14 Tandy Place, East Village, London E20 3AS. Planned public hours are Monday–Friday 08:00–18:00, Saturday 08:30–18:00 and Sunday 08:30–16:00. The closed day for the regular six-day week is being finalised; the initial soft launch may be Wednesday–Sunday. Actual shifts, including prep time before opening, will be agreed in advance. Apply through Caterer with your CV or work history, earliest start date, availability and a short note about how you organise a morning prep list. We welcome applicants from different food backgrounds and can discuss reasonable adjustments for interviews. TPBN1_UKCT
