Be a part of Hemisphere's growing Ocean Import freight team. Within this role you will be looking after the importation of our clients' products across many different industries, and from all over the world including, Asia, America, Europe etc via Sea and Ocean.
A successful candidate would be joining a strong performing company with highly experienced and skilled colleagues. Within the role you will also receive suitable training to become a specialist customs broker and play a big part in facilitating international trade.
The role will involve:

- Daily communication with our clients from shipping stage to final delivery including close cooperation with the Hemisphere team to understand requirements and to provide second to none logistics solutions
- Expertly handling day to day import ocean freight operations
- Import Customs processes and formalities
- Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers
- Arranging final mile delivery requirements with our third-party suppliers, and in-house Transport, Fulfilment and Warehousing teams
- Supporting customers with general customs advice
- Identifying clients who will benefit from using Compass (online tracking portal)
- Creation of customs and import ocean documents
- Working with HMRC and other customs authorities
You will need to have:
Current experience in customs clearances and shipping knowledge will give any applicant an advantage. We are looking to grow a team with varied experience and skills, some of what we are looking for are:
- Performing Import Customs clearances (IPR, Bonded, Home-Use)
- Competence in handling/submitting additional customs documentation, certificates or licences as required by regulatory bodies such as Port Health.
- Knowledge of Tariffs/Preferential Trade Agreements
- Understanding of AEO Procedures
- Good understanding of Bills of Lading
- General Customs Compliance
- Understanding of Inco Terms
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills
- Customer Service experience
