We are looking for a qualified, experienced Electrical Panel Fitter & Wireperson to join our workshop team here at HEMCO Power & Control Systems Ltd. We are a small company based in Eastleigh, and we design and build electrical control systems for a wide variety of process control, machine and manufacturing applications for a diverse range of industry sectors. We specialise in all levels of design and manufacture, from simple panel building to complete integrated systems, whether from scratch, or according to customer designs.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:- Control Panel Layout & Assembly
- Control Panel Wiring
- Understanding electrical drawings, schematics and cable schedules
- Industrial Engineering activities
- Soldering, crimping & ferruling
- Checking & Testing of finished assemblies
- Checking-in deliveries and assisting in offloading components etc.
- Printing terminal and panel labels using company PC & associated software
- Trainee / apprentice supervision and development
Ideally, candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Electrical / electronic apprenticeship
- NVQ level 2 or above attained in a similar role.
Experienced and competent in electrical control panel work to a high standard:
- To assist in design, undertake layouts of assemblies, products etc.
- Mechanical assembly of those products (drilling, tapping, fixing etc.)
- Wiring of those assemblies to the required levels of quality, as well as complying to British and International standards such as BSEN, BS7671 & other relevant standards.
- Understanding & interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and cable schedules
- Feedback information, ideas, corrections etc. to the engineering team
- Suitably pack and assist in preparing equipment for dispatch etc.
- Assisting in maintaining required levels of stock (Cable, terminals, consumables etc.)
- Attending site to undertake site surveys, installation, commissioning activities etc.
- Basic testing and fault finding.
- Following inhouse quality assurance procedures to ISO9001:2015
- Good attention to detail.
- Good hand and eye coordination.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
- Capability of working to strict tolerances and deadlines.
- Manual dexterity.
