HEMCO are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified, highly motivated engineer, with a Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, looking to expand their career within a small company that has an enviable reputation for quality engineering solutions.

The successful applicant will need the ability to communicate effectively, think creatively, be thorough and methodical, with meticulous attention to detail, be eager to learn and possess a positive can–do attitude, as well as the ability to liaise and discuss detailed technical projects and ideas with clients both at our offices and on site as may be required to test/commission these projects, mostly within the U.K, but occasionally abroad.

Main Duties
  • Identifying / interpreting customer requirements
  • Designing electrical control systems and products
  • Reading design specifications, functional design specifications and technical documentation
  • Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales
  • Working to British (BS), European (EN) and other standards
  • Liaising with others in the design team
  • Liaising with clients and contractors
  • Attending meetings on site
  • Designing and conducting tests
  • Recording, analysing and interpreting test data
  • Proposing modifications and retesting products
  • Qualifying the final product or system
  • Servicing and maintaining clients equipment
  • Preparing new project quotations etc.
  • Preparing product documentation, writing reports and giving presentations
  • Monitoring a product in use to improve on future design
  • Writing / modifying PLC, HMI/SCADA & Inverter Drive programming
  • Installation
  • Commissioning
