Role Overview
As a Business Support Officer, you will report directly to the Head of Business and contribute to the efficient running of our operations. This is an exciting opportunity to support finance, projects, and office administration while working collaboratively in a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance Support
- Manage expense submissions and company credit card transactions.
- Review and approve employee expenses, manage purchase orders, and reconcile supplier invoices.
- Maintain financial records in Sage and perform HR and project management system reconciliations.
- Organise travel arrangements and accommodation bookings.
- Project Support
- Facilitate the submission and approval of employee and contractor timesheets.
- Monitor and update project management systems, addressing discrepancies in scheduling and timesheets.
- Create and distribute business and project reports.
- Set up and manage project codes, employee records, and reporting systems.
- Office Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site on Fridays and during holiday cover.
- Oversee office supply procurement and manage printing and collation tasks.
- Escort suppliers on-site and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage) is desirable.
Work Environment
Hybrid working model: On-site Mondays and Fridays, remote Tuesdays to Thursdays (post-induction). Additional on-site presence required for holiday cover or business needs.
