As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance customer value, Helvar offers an opportunity for a talented Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team of experts. In this role, you will contribute to cutting-edge projects, provide technical expertise, and play a vital part in delivering intelligent lighting solutions worldwide. You will work closely with colleagues across international offices, collaborating with sales, project, and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution across Wales and the southwest. You can be based in Wales or the southwest of England.
The primary focus of this role is the commissioning, programming, and maintenance of Helvar lighting control systems in the field. A key element involves establishing strong early engagement with customers and partners, ensuring clear communication regarding timelines, milestones, and project handover expectations. You will support the smooth integration of lighting control solutions by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting issues, and resolving challenges that arise during project deployment.
Additionally, this role includes a critical responsibility for training and equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and skills needed to use Helvar systems effectively, fostering confidence and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Working both independently and collaboratively, you will contribute to the global technical operations team, supporting day-to-day activities and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Commission, program, and maintain lighting control systems and associated products
- Support and develop the service business by providing reliable and customer-focused technical service
- Train customers to use the systems effectively and confidently
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across sales, delivery, and support phases
- Ensure a smooth, well-informed, and customer-centric experience at every stage of the project lifecycle
- Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for the company's solutions, based on a deep understanding of lighting control technologies and the broader technology landscape
- Engage in regular customer interactions, including site visits, meetings, and participation in relevant industry events and exhibitions
- Report regularly on sales and project progress using internal tools and processes

What you'll bring to the team
