Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards. As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously. We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams - and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.

The role of Security Manager for Helsing France involves safeguarding the integrity of the capabilities we deliver to our customers, ensuring every product and programme meets national and international security requirements, including at classified level. You will act as the focal point for coordinating Helsing's security resources across French teams, working in close partnership with the DGA and other national authorities to secure accreditation for sensitive infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery and regulatory compliance, translating complex requirements under IGI 1300 and II 901 into practical, auditable processes that protect both our people and our mission. Your work will directly enable Helsing to operate securely within one of Europe's most demanding defence environments.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement and operate security standards including ISO 27001 and applicable French national frameworks, embedding compliance into everyday delivery.
  • Coordinate the accreditation (homologation) of sensitive infrastructure with the DGA, preparing homologation files, conducting risk analyses and managing external security audits and penetration tests.
  • Manage the security officer function for Helsing France, overseeing security clearances (habilitations), Security Aspect Letters (Plans Contractuels de Sécurité) and compliance with IGI 1300, II 901 and IM900.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring contractual security requirements are met across every engagement.
  • Develop and test incident response, business continuity and crisis management plans, strengthening Helsing's resilience against evolving threats.
  • Deliver security awareness and training programmes that embed a strong security culture across the French entity.
  • Shape Group-wide security policies and contribute to cross-functional security projects spanning multiple European teams.

You should apply if you:

  • Have developed and applied security expertise across complex, regulated environments.
  • Have successfully delivered security or compliance projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Hold a recognised qualification or certification in a security-related field, or demonstrate equivalent hands-on expertise.
  • Understand French and international security regulations, including the handling of classified information under IGI 1300, II 901 and IM900.
  • Are familiar with Information Security Management Systems such as ISO 27001 or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Communicate clearly and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including customers and government or military counterparts.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working within a defence, government or other highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with NATO or EU classified information frameworks.
  • Fluency in French and English, enabling clear communication with national authorities and international teams.
  • Experience coordinating penetration tests or technical security audits.
  • Understanding of GDPR and its intersection with national security requirements.
  • Experience contributing to ISO 27001 certification or surveillance audits.
