The roleAs a Field Engineer at Helsing, you will play a crucial role in maturing Helsing's cutting-edge military AI products from proof of concept to large-scale rollout.You will testing combined software and hardware products throughout the product development lifecycle, in collaboration with world-class software and AI engineers, product managers, and end users as part of a tight iteration loop. You will ultimately help assure the safety and reliability of Helsing's products.The day-to-dayTesting combined software and hardware products end to end in the lab and in the field (including flying drones), capturing data, and providing feedback to Helsing’s software and AI engineersPacking equipment, transporting it to the test locations (eg, airfields), setting it up, performing tests, and then packing up at the end of the dayInstalling AI software onto edge computing devices, using Helsing's in-house deployment toolsHelping to design and improve test plans and safety SOPsDefining and securing the resources we need to maintain an effective and efficient field testing operation, and helping to secure them. For example, this may include purchasing hardware, trialing new software tools for inventory management and QA, establishing new secure storage facilities, and preparing safety cases and submissions to aviation authorities.Advising on training course design and in-service support proceduresOpportunities to travel to other testing locations in the UK, France, Germany, and beyondYou should apply if youHave a strong technical aptitude and natural curiosity. You can understand complex hardware and software products at a systems level (not necessarily at the code level).
