Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards. As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously. We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role involves leading the internationally aligned Training and Mission Success Specialist (MSS) team, sitting at the intersection of operational delivery, customer success, and tactical expertise. You will own the planning and execution of field deployments and training courses across all international markets outside Germany, acting as the leader of small high-functioning cross-discipline teams and as the primary business development interface during deployed customer-facing engagements. Alongside your project management and leadership responsibilities, you will bring hands-on authority as a HX-2 tactics instructor, ensuring every deployment reflects the highest standards of operational and tactical excellence. This role carries real weight: your decisions directly shape the customer experience of Helsing and the capabilities we build and deploy.
The day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end project management of international field deployments and training courses, ensuring on-time, on-standard delivery across multiple simultaneous engagements globally.
- Serving as the primary business development lead during customer-facing deployments, building trusted relationships with defence and government stakeholders and feeding structured commercial intelligence back into the wider business.
- Delivering HX-2 tactics instruction to customer personnel as the subject-matter expert for the ALTRA recce-strike system, maintaining and evolving course content to reflect the latest operational doctrine and system capabilities.
- Acting as the senior customer success owner during field engagements, proactively identifying and resolving issues, capturing feedback, and translating customer outcomes into measurable programme, training, and product improvements.
- Representing Helsing operationally across international markets, coordinating closely with internal teams to align field activity with strategic business priorities and ensuring a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
You should apply if you:
- Have held a leadership position managing complex field operations and/or training programmes in high-stakes, time-critical environments, ideally within a military or defence context.
- Have experience in the design, development, and implementation of NATO or equivalent training programmes, including experience of training design frameworks such as UK DSAT; US SAT / ISD (ADDIE); NATO Systems Approach to Training; and NSIQC.
- Are enthused by the prospect of regular overseas deployments with the requirement to operate in field conditions alongside military partners for 2-3 week periods.
- Bring direct, hands-on experience operating or instructing on the HX-2 recce-strike system, or have served as a qualified tactics instructor on a comparable recce-strike, loitering munition UAS platform, or within a support weapon trade such as Javelin anti-tank, reconnaissance, or sniper specialisms.
- Have built and sustained trusted relationships with senior defence or government customers, and can credibly operate as a business development lead during live customer engagements.
- Hold, or are eligible to obtain, the security clearance required for the operational demands of this role.
- Communicate with clarity and authority in English to native standard, with the interpersonal range to operate effectively across diverse international defence audiences.
