Company: Helpothon — The Global "Help With Anything" ecosystem

Role: Founding Core Circle — Startup Builder (Vision + Execution)

Type: Volunteer / Unpaid (High-Ownership Role; profit-sharing/equity discussions possible in future)

Location: Global Remote — Open to applicants worldwide

Commitment: 10–15 hrs/week (initially) — high ownership, flexibility required

Role summary: You are a builder— not a manager. Join Helpothon's Core Circle to help build a global company from 0 → 1 → N: design product/service, create teams, start revenue, build systems, and scale. You'll be responsible for creating lasting engines that run without you.

Why we need you: Most applicants expect a finished startup. We want people who love building one. You'll be a founding-level builder responsible for turning vision into repeatable systems, training teams, launching revenue streams, and making Helpothon autonomous.

Key responsibilities:

  • Vision-to-systems: Translate the founder's vision into executable playbooks, KPIs, and team charters.
  • Build the builder org: Recruit, mentor, and empower HR + Team Leads to run autonomously.
  • Launch revenue engines: Validate monetization strategies; pilot and close first paying jobs (outsourced if needed).
  • Ship MVPs & samples: Lead creation of sample deliverables and capability decks used by Sales & Marketing.
  • Design self-healing processes: Create SOPs so teams replace/scale without single-person dependency.
  • Cross-team orchestration: Weekly leadership syncs; unblock teams; prioritize initiatives.
  • Data & measurement: Define and track core metrics, report weekly.
  • Culture & hiring bar: Set culture norms; recruit people who fit the maker mindset.
  • Mentor & promote: Surface high performers, create leadership pathways.

Decision authority & scope: You have authority to create teams and role definitions, approve hires from shortlisted candidates, and start pilot projects. Major funding/large legal commitments remain founder-level decisions (unless pre-agreed by Core Circle). Core Circle operates by consensus for strategic shifts; individual members can lead initiatives with agreed KPIs.

Core KPIs (examples — you'll define final ones):

  • Number of validated service verticals launched
  • Active contributors per team (weekly active users)
  • Leads generated per month / demo-to-client conversion rate
  • Number of sample deliverables completed & published
  • Time-to-fill for key roles (HR Lead, Team Leads)
  • Client satisfaction score (NPS-style) for first paid jobs
  • System resilience metric: % roles with immediate backups

Ideal candidate — the builder profile: You are likely to apply if you:

  • Love starting from zero and shipping imperfectly fast.
  • Have founded, co-founded, or built startup projects / communities / products before (early-stage experience preferred).
  • Are exceptional at systems thinking: turning chaos into repeatable processes.
  • Can recruit, mentor, and hold people accountable without micro-managing.
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and making trade-offs.
  • Prefer impact and ownership over a fixed salary (short-term).
  • Excellent communicator, cross-cultural collaborator, and high-integrity.
  • Comfortable with occasional hands-on tactical work (pitching, hiring, SOP writing).

Bonus: Prior experience in scaling volunteer orgs, open-source projects, marketing/sales for early-stage startups, or running remote teams.

Culture & behaviour we expect:

  • Bias for action: ship, measure, iterate.
  • Extreme ownership: you own outcomes, not tasks.
  • Low ego, high empathy.
  • Hiring-first mindset: always recruit before scaling.
  • Transparent communication and documentation.
  • Long-term thinker who loves building sustainable systems.

Compensation & future economics:

  • Now: Volunteer (unpaid). Experience letter, Founding Core Circle recognition, priority for future paid roles.
  • Future: We plan to introduce profit-sharing, revenue-sharing, once financials and legal frameworks allow. Core Circle members will be prioritized for those discussions.

How to prepare for a job interview at Helpothon

Understand the Builder Mindset

Before your interview, get into the mindset of a builder. Familiarise yourself with Helpothon's vision and think about how you can contribute to turning that vision into reality. Be ready to discuss your past experiences in building projects from scratch and how you embrace imperfection in the process.

Showcase Your Systems Thinking

Prepare examples that demonstrate your ability to create repeatable processes from chaos. Think about specific instances where you've successfully designed systems or SOPs that allowed teams to operate autonomously. This will resonate well with the role's focus on creating lasting engines.

Highlight Your Recruitment Skills

Since this role involves building teams, be ready to talk about your experience in recruiting and mentoring. Share stories that illustrate how you've empowered others without micromanaging, and how you identify candidates who fit the maker mindset. This will show your alignment with Helpothon's culture.

Emphasise Your Bias for Action

Helpothon values a bias for action, so come prepared to discuss how you've shipped projects quickly and iterated based on feedback. Highlight any experiences where you've taken ownership of outcomes and made impactful decisions in ambiguous situations. This will demonstrate your fit for the role.
