We are looking for a detail-oriented & collaborative Treasury Asset and Liability Manager (ALM) to play a key role in enhancing Treasury’s balance sheet management capabilities and reporting. This is an important role for us, which will work across the Treasury, Finance, and Risk functions.
About the role:
- Responsible for designing and setting up the relevant methodology, policies, and procedures.
- Develop configuration in the Asset Liability Management system (MORS) related to Balance Sheet Management, including an efficient, transparent, and effective Funds Transfer Pricing methodology and platform to measure product risk and profitability through the lens of Liquidity, Funding, and Interest Rate risks.
- Contribute to ICAAP and ILAAP processes and assessments, review behavioural analysis, and limit setting.
- Oversee and report performance metrics into governance committees and forums.
- Assist with developing ALM policies and procedures and performing control monitoring.
- Ensure appropriate oversight of balance sheet and off-balance sheet new and existing products and their impacts on IRRBB and Liquidity metrics is accurately captured.
- Engage with the wider Finance team on Bank Profitability activities.
- Own the configuration of the ALM system.
- Ensure policy and procedures documentation aligns with requirements.
- Manage and report liquidity, funding, and IRRBB metrics in a timely manner.
- Help innovate and improve the effectiveness of the liquidity management framework and risk management processes to ensure they work for Monzo.
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Stress testing activities related to Interest Rate risk, Liquidity and Funding risk, and CSRBB measurements.
- Have an understanding of Treasury processes and risk management activities.
- Experience in Treasury modelling and methodology design.
- Apply strategic thinking and planning skills to formulate, execute, and translate business strategy to determine priorities and goals.
- Knowledge and experience of ALM systems and configurations.
- Demonstrate leadership and ability to initiate and drive Treasury initiatives.
- In-depth understanding of risks embedded in banking book products.
- Proven experience within a regulated financial institution/retail bank environment.
- Strong awareness of the wider business, economic, and regulatory environment.
- Excellent facilitation skills for assessing needs and engaging with product owners and senior management regarding product profitability.
- Excellent relationship-building skills to listen, influence, present, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
