A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is looking for a short-term role in a Primary school in the Clitheroe area on a full-time basis. The role is set to commence in September 2025, with shortlisting currently underway. The high school has been a cornerstone of the Clitheroe community for over 90 years and is proud to be Lancashire's only maintained all-through school. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
  • Assisting students with their learning, including those with additional needs
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning
  • Preparing and organising learning resources for lessons
  • Supporting students in small group work and 1-1 sessions
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and providing feedback to the teacher
  • Assisting with the supervision of students during breaks and lunch
  • Contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
  • Supporting the implementation of school policies and health & safety guidelines
  • Maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress when necessary

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Proven experience of working as a Teaching Assistant
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Two education or school-based references
