Strategic Sales Director
Industrial Supplies / MRO
Exceptional Package + Bonus + Car Allowance
You're the person customers take meetings with.
The person who opens doors where others can't.
The one who understands how large manufacturers, engineering businesses and industrial operators really buy, and how to position value beyond price.
We're partnering with a growing industrial supplies business looking to appoint a Strategic Sales Director to spearhead growth across major UK manufacturing, engineering, logistics and industrial organisations.
This is not an account management role.
Success will come from identifying opportunities, creating relationships at senior level and converting strategic prospects into long-term customers.
We're seeking a commercially driven sales leader who has built a reputation within the MRO, industrial supplies, engineering consumables or industrial distribution sector and can leverage both market knowledge and networks to accelerate growth.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll take responsibility for developing and delivering the company's strategic growth agenda.
You'll engage with procurement leaders, operations directors, engineering managers and executive stakeholders to uncover opportunities where the business can add value through supply chain optimisation, vendor consolidation, inventory management solutions and technical support.
Your focus will be on winning significant new business opportunities and establishing national partnerships that generate long-term, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic new business growth plan.
- Identify, engage and secure opportunities with large multi-site industrial and manufacturing organisations.
- Build relationships with decision-makers at board, procurement, operations and engineering level.
- Create compelling value propositions that differentiate the business beyond product and price.
- Lead complex sales processes from prospect identification through to contract negotiation and implementation.
- Open doors into new sectors, customers and markets.
- Build and maintain a high-value pipeline of strategic opportunities.
- Work closely with operational and technical teams to ensure successful customer onboarding.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
- Provide commercial insight on market trends, competitor activity and future growth opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience within MRO, industrial supplies, engineering consumables, industrial distribution or a closely related sector.
- A proven track record of securing major new business contracts.
- Experience selling into manufacturing, engineering, industrial, utilities, distribution or logistics environments.
- Strong networks and relationships across relevant industrial sectors.
- Exceptional negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers and C-suite stakeholders.
- Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial and commercially astute.
- Proven ability to deliver against ambitious growth targets.
Why This Opportunity?
This is a genuinely high-impact role where you'll be trusted to shape the future growth of the business.
You'll have the autonomy to build strategy, target the opportunities you believe offer the greatest potential and be instrumental in expanding the company's presence within the UK industrial market.
For an ambitious sales leader with strong MRO or industrial supplies experience, this represents an opportunity to make a lasting impact and be recognised for it.
If you're currently operating as a Business Development Director, Strategic Account Director, Sales Director or Commercial Leader within the industrial supplies or MRO sector and are looking for a role where your ability to open doors and win major contracts will be truly valued, we'd love to hear from you.
