Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, the role holder is responsible for supporting the design, development and embedding of the group-wide Disaster Recovery testing framework and processes across the Bank. The role holder will be responsible for categorising key applications to understand the requirement for DR testing, production and monitoring of test playbooks and scenario testing. They will also be responsible for the production of monthly management information and related reporting and will take an active role in communicating with stakeholders across the Bank, providing DR updates. They will also be responsible for ensuring the DR Testing standard is maintained and operationalised across the Group. They will be a central point of contact to provide SME knowledge, training, and support to business units.

Typical Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Senior Manager with the design, development and embedding of group-wide DR testing framework and strategies.
  • Ensuring appropriate escalations are undertaken in accordance with Bank policies.
  • Supporting identification and implementation of enhancements to the DR Testing policy and framework.
  • Regularly reviewing, categorising and monitoring applications to ensure all applications and scenarios that meet the criteria for DR testing are tested.
  • Actively leading and supporting stakeholders to ensure effective and timely DR tests, working with technical and business teams to produce and implement necessary plans and playbooks to minimise customer and operational impact.
  • Supporting the business in developing business verification scripts to ensure DR tests are successful.
  • Maintaining and updating business communications channels linked to DR testing and output.
  • Engaging with third-party suppliers and key internal stakeholders across the business, such as technology, business operations and change management, to ensure appropriate priority and resources are provided to deliver the DR testing schedule, identifying and reporting any risks and managing necessary actions.
  • Producing or collating post-test reports with results of the tests and agreed actions, and actively tracking these actions to completion.
  • Providing accurate, timely and relevant management reporting.
  • Overseeing and facilitating third-party DR assurance to ensure the DR testing policy requirements are met.
  • Ensuring the DR testing framework is considered and operationalised as part of projects and service introductions by providing SME support and oversight.
  • Promoting a continuous improvement mindset across the Controls COO team, identifying opportunities to enhance processes that add value, improve customer experience, enhance efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Being required to work out of hours to support DR testing.
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements and developments to DR testing capabilities to ensure best practice is understood and implemented across the Bank.
  • Prioritising demands and delivering in a fast-moving and challenging environment.
  • Working closely with Business Continuity teams to align processes and expectations, and where possible identifying areas for collaboration and process improvement.
