Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Wireless Engineer to support, maintain, and optimise the organisation’s enterprise wireless infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, secure, and high performing Wi-Fi services across office, campus, and remote environments. The position works closely with engineering and operations teams to maintain stable connectivity, support wireless deployments, and deliver a seamless user experience across the enterprise network environment.
What you will do:
- Operate and maintain wireless LAN infrastructure including controllers, access points, authentication services, and supporting network components.
- Troubleshoot wireless performance, coverage, and connectivity issues using diagnostic tools and vendor specific utilities.
- Support configuration changes including SSID deployments, RF tuning, firmware upgrades, and wireless security policy updates.
- Conduct wireless site surveys including active, passive, and predictive assessments.
- Assist with wireless coverage design, access point placement, and interference mitigation strategies.
- Maintain secure wireless authentication mechanisms including 802.1X and EAP TLS integrations with RADIUS and NAC systems.
- Monitor wireless controller and access point health, utilisation, and capacity across the network environment.
- Support onboarding of new wireless locations and assist with network expansion or migration initiatives.
- Produce and maintain documentation including network topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operational runbooks.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with enterprise wireless networking platforms such as Cisco, Aruba, or Meraki.
- Strong understanding of radio frequency principles and wireless networking standards including 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, and ax.
- Ability to analyse wireless packet captures and perform spectrum analysis to diagnose connectivity issues.
- Understanding of wireless security mechanisms and authentication frameworks including 802.1X and EAP TLS.
- Knowledge of LAN networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing concepts, and network segmentation.
- Experience troubleshooting wireless performance, interference, and coverage challenges in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with wireless site survey methodologies and network design considerations.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills in complex network environments.
