Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a highly skilled Metering Engineer to lead the design, assessment, and deployment of industrial utilities metering solutions across multiple sites. This role will support large-scale metering initiatives that drive sustainability, operational excellence, and compliance with international standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in instrumentation, metering technologies, and OT/IT integration, along with the ability to coordinate site-level engineering activities.

What you will do:

  • Lead site-level technical coordination for metering deployments.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments as the OT technical expert (instrumentation + IT/OT integration).
  • Serve as a specialist in metering technologies, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Design and validate connectivity architecture (PLCs, SCADA, gateways, Schneider PME).
  • Oversee configuration, commissioning, interface validation, and communications integration.
  • Ensure cybersecurity compliance with support from Cyber SMEs.
  • Manage site-level documentation, change control, and testing.
  • Provide technical support to local engineering teams.
  • Perform on-site assessments for electricity, gas, diesel, water, and wastewater metering installations.
  • Analyze P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and electrical single-line diagrams to identify optimal metering points and technologies.
  • Recommend metering solutions aligned with client standards, including meter type, accuracy class, and communication protocols.
  • Account for installation complexity, hazardous areas, fluid characteristics, and physical parameters.
  • Collaborate with engineering and OT/IT teams to define network requirements and ensure boundary and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Provide technical direction to OEMs and contractors supporting procurement and commissioning.
  • Document “as-is” and “to-be” metering configurations with full traceability.
  • Produce deliverables including site assessments, metering gap analyses, specifications, connectivity designs, layouts, calibration guides, BoMs, and technical validation for vendor quotes.
  • Demonstrate integrity, inclusion, accountability, continuous development, and teamwork in alignment with client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Engineering.
  • Proven experience in industrial utilities metering (electricity, gas, steam, water, wastewater).
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or process manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of flow-measurement principles and metering technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP, RS-485, pulse/analog signals.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, gateways, SCADA systems, and PME integration.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and produce structured documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Training in hazardous area equipment selection and installation fundamentals.
  • Experience with global projects and local/international standards (ATEX, CSA).
  • Skilled in handling large datasets for energy data verification.
  • English language proficiency required.
