Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Security Consultant to support the delivery of secure, resilient, and compliant technology solutions across complex enterprise environments. This role is suited for a proactive and technically skilled cybersecurity professional capable of operating strategically and hands-on while providing advisory, assessment, and implementation support across multiple security domains.

The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients to identify security risks, assess vulnerabilities, strengthen security posture, and implement effective mitigation strategies aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.

What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments including risk analysis, vulnerability identification, and threat modelling.
  • Design and implement security controls and frameworks to protect systems, networks, applications, and data.
  • Provide advisory support on security architecture, governance, compliance, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Support or lead penetration testing activities and recommend remediation actions for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to embed security-by-design principles across projects and services.
  • Evaluate and improve existing security posture including policies, procedures, and technical controls.
  • Produce detailed documentation, reports, and presentations communicating security findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to support proactive security improvements.
  • Support secure infrastructure, application, and data protection initiatives across enterprise environments.
  • Contribute to security governance, compliance, and operational risk management activities.
  • Support incident investigation, vulnerability remediation, and security improvement initiatives where required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong technical background in cybersecurity across multiple security domains.
  • Experience conducting security assessments, risk analysis, and threat modelling activities.
  • Experience designing and implementing security controls and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of security architecture, governance, and compliance principles.
  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment activities.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking, secure architecture design, and network segmentation principles.
  • Knowledge of application security, secure development practices, and vulnerability mitigation techniques.
  • Understanding of cryptography, encryption methods, key management, and data protection principles is desirable.
  • Experience securing databases, managing access controls, and protecting sensitive data.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems including hardening and security best practices.
  • Experience working within complex enterprise environments.
  • CISSP certification is highly desirable.
  • Additional certifications such as CISM, CEH, OSCP, or CompTIA Security+ are beneficial.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts clearly.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
