Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Security Cloud Engineer to support the advancement of cloud security platforms, infrastructure automation, and secure cloud-native solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This role will play a key part in expanding cloud security capabilities, automating remediation and escalation processes, and contributing to secure, scalable, and resilient cloud services.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to support cloud modernization initiatives, CI/CD processes, infrastructure automation, and security best practices across dynamic business functions.
What you will do:
- Drive cloud infrastructure enhancements aligned with agreed technical strategies and operational objectives.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of secure cloud services and infrastructure solutions.
- Support the adoption of cloud-native application architectures across engineering and business teams.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure and architecture align with modern security standards and software lifecycle practices.
- Translate High Level Designs (HLDs) and Low Level Designs (LLDs) into actionable technical implementations.
- Support cloud security initiatives by identifying potential threats and contributing to mitigation strategies.
- Utilize cloud security tooling and SIEM platforms to strengthen security posture and operational visibility.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes within operational environments.
- Contribute to remediation and escalation automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and security responsiveness.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using scripting languages and infrastructure automation tools.
- Support CI/CD pipeline implementation, optimization, and operational management.
- Utilize tools such as Chef, Terraform, and deployment automation technologies to streamline cloud operations.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to deliver scalable and automated infrastructure solutions.
- Support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes technologies.
- Contribute to Kubernetes orchestration and cloud-native platform engineering initiatives.
- Support Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments and container deployment strategies.
- Develop infrastructure automation solutions using Terraform or Deployment Manager templates within GCP.
- Configure and manage IAM roles, Service Accounts, and Organization Policies within Google Cloud environments.
- Support GCP networking configurations, including VPCs, firewall rules, and cloud load balancing.
- Utilize Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Deploy, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Security Command Center tools to support CI/CD, observability, and security operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working within cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Professional cloud certifications preferred across Azure, AWS, or GCP technologies.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, cloud-native architectures, and secure infrastructure design.
- Proven experience translating HLDs and LLDs into practical technical solutions.
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Java.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and Agile delivery practices.
- Experience working with SIEM tools, cloud security tooling, and security controls.
- Hands-on experience with Wiz Cloud and Wiz Defend technologies preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
- Experience supporting Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
- Proven experience implementing automation within operational environments using Chef or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of GCP infrastructure automation, IAM configuration, networking, observability, and container platforms.
- Experience with GKE, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Deploy, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Security Command Center preferred.
- Experience working within financial services or regulated environments considered advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical discipline preferred.
- CISSP certification considered highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively within fast-paced and cross-functional technical environments.
