Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Network Component Product Owner to own a defined component area within a pod environment, such as segmentation, NAC, DDI, egress, SIEM detections, or runbook automation. This role is responsible for refining epics into clearly defined user stories with measurable acceptance tests, managing cross tower dependencies, and ensuring smooth delivery flow. The position requires strong backlog governance, risk and control translation into actionable artefacts, and close collaboration with technical and product leadership stakeholders.
What you will do:
- Own a defined network or security component area within the pod environment.
- Refine epics into user stories with clear acceptance criteria and measurable tests.
- Translate risk, controls, and design artefacts into structured backlog items.
- Define and maintain Definition of Ready and Definition of Done standards.
- Orchestrate and support User Acceptance Testing activities.
- Maintain cross tower dependency maps across networks, identity, endpoint, SOC, and service management functions.
- Negotiate sequencing and prioritisation to keep delivery flow unblocked.
- Co-create standard change models and evidence packs with Technical Leads.
- Ensure Post Implementation Review actions are incorporated into the backlog.
- Visualise delivery progress and value through burn up metrics and control coverage tracking.
- Maintain a tight feedback loop with the Key Product Owner.
- Monitor and improve backlog health, including aging, work in progress, and throughput metrics.
- Improve first time pass rates against Definition of Done standards.
- Reduce change lead time and minimise change related incidents.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst within network and security domains.
- Demonstrated expertise in story writing and backlog hygiene management.
- Strong familiarity with configuration and policy artefacts including firewall baselines, ISE or NAC policy, DDI plans, proxy or ZTNA, and SIEM rules.
- Working knowledge of ITIL change processes and ServiceNow request and change models.
- PSPO or CSPO certification preferred.
- Vendor fundamentals certification in one or more of the following stacks preferred: Cisco, Zscaler, Fortinet, Splunk, Infoblox, or Forescout.
