Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Junior Network Engineer to support a critical infrastructure refresh across EMEA colocation sites. This role focuses on the replacement of end‑of‑life network switches, requiring hands‑on technical expertise, coordination with stakeholders, and end‑to‑end delivery of network migration activities.
What you will do:
- Configure network devices in lab environments prior to deployment.
- Coordinate with remote teams to rack and install network switches.
- Raise change requests and communicate with stakeholders to secure approvals.
- Execute migration of connections from legacy to new network devices.
- Perform validation checks during and after migration activities.
- Support weekend migration windows and ensure readiness for operational checks.
- Coordinate decommissioning, removal, and disposal of legacy equipment.
- Track project progress and update centralized reporting tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to resolve issues.
- Drive project completion by proactively addressing risks and obstacles.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with network engineering concepts including TCP/IP, BGP routing, PIM routing, STP, route maps, and access lists.
- Proven experience working with network routers and switches, including Arista and Cisco technologies.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure deployment and migration processes.
- Experience working in complex enterprise or financial services environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate adaptability, and maintain a proactive approach to delivery.
