About the role:

As a Recipe Developer at HelloFresh, you would be at the heart of the product, creating delicious innovative recipes and managing the process through meticulous planning, tracking, and various testing stages. The role requires experience in cooking and writing recipes, combined with a strong aptitude for costing and hitting critical budgetary targets. Your ultimate mission is to be agile and data‑driven, delivering flawless, cost‑effective recipes every time to help customers discover the joy of cooking.

What you’ll do:

  • Create, cost, write and cook delicious recipes that bring recipe briefs to life.
  • Brainstorm innovative recipe ideas and collaborate with the wider team to ensure every dish meets our high quality standards and evolving customer demands.
  • Manage development ingredients within the HelloFresh kitchen, ensuring everything is sourced and ready for testing.
  • Maintain a gold‑standard kitchen environment, overseeing the cleanliness, organization, and efficient use of ingredients.
  • Own your weekly deadlines, ensuring every recipe is delivered on time with 100% accuracy.
  • Review and edit recipes meticulously to ensure all ordering data, ingredient specs, and cooking instructions are flawless.
  • Iterate on recipe designs by incorporating internal testing feedback and external customer insights.
  • Analyze and respond to weekly customer feedback, using these insights to rework and refine recipes to guarantee maximum customer satisfaction.

What you’ll bring:

  • A strong culinary background and a passion for food, whether through professional kitchen experience, a culinary degree, or a proven track record in food media or product development.
  • A minimum of 1 year of culinary experience with demonstrable evidence of recipe creation/testing/development/writing.
  • Great organisational and communication skills with the ability to meet time‑sensitive deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot a typo in a recipe or a missing gram of seasoning from a mile away.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team and across teams, confident in offering constructive criticism to other members of the team in group recipe discussions.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and a quick ability to learn internal CMS and database tools.
  • Good to have: specialised cuisine knowledge and/or diploma in a food‑related field.

Location: The HelloFresh Farm, 60 Worship Street, EC2A 2EZ, London

Shifts: Monday‑Friday, 9am‑6pm, based in the office Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and some Fridays.
