The role: What's in the Box
At HelloFresh, packaging is more than functional. It's part of how our customers experience every box we send. Our Packaging team is entering an exciting new phase, expanding its remit to look closely at the packaging surrounding our ingredients. As Category Manager for Primary Packaging, you will report to the Director of Packaging and play a pioneering role in shaping a new category from the ground up. You'll work closely with our packaging design team on the broader redesign of our ingredient packaging across Europe, helping define both the strategy and the day-to-day of a brand-new function. If you enjoy building structure out of ambiguity and want ownership over something with real, visible impact, this role offers exactly that.
What you’ll do: The Recipe
- Map the current landscape of primary packaging across our European markets, building visibility that doesn't yet exist.
- Source and develop a network of primary packaging suppliers, taking ownership of vendor selection, specifications, and ongoing relationships.
- Consolidate spend category by category, moving toward well-negotiated, transparent supplier partnerships.
- Collaborate with our packaging design team to elevate the look and feel of our ingredient packaging.
- Navigate varying packaging legislation across markets, working with stakeholders to find solutions that scale where possible.
- Partner cross-functionally with ingredient suppliers, category managers, and internal teams to align on packaging strategy and priorities.
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field and level 2-4 years of experience in strategic procurement, supply chain, or consulting.
- A track record of building something new, with comfort working without an established process to follow.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity and a willingness to deep-dive into complex, unfamiliar topics.
- Fluent in English; willing to travel occasionally.
Above all, we are looking for people who will make HelloFresh better. There are many different ways of developing skills, and we love diverse experiences! So even if you don’t “tick all the boxes” but think you’d thrive in this role, we would really like to learn more about you.
What we offer: The Toppings
- 70% off HelloFresh or Green Chef boxes.
- Company pension scheme.
- Gym membership.
- Bupa private medical insurance (including dental & family cover options).
- Mental health first aiders and an employee assistance programme.
- Nursery support scheme.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Group Life Assurance.
Are you the missing ingredient? If this sounds like a tasty opportunity, we’d be excited to hear from you. We aim to review your profile and respond within 5 business days.
