At Fego, we don’t just run restaurants — we create places people feel at home. We’re looking for an Assistant Manager who leads with warmth, energy and care for people. Someone who enjoys being on the floor, supporting the team and helping build a strong, consistent environment day to day. This role is for someone who believes great hospitality is about people, small details and showing up every day with the right attitude.
About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to support the running of the restaurant. You’ll be hands‑on, present and leading from the floor — helping the team stay organised, confident and focused, while making sure guests feel genuinely looked after. You’ll bring structure where needed, but always with a human approach.
You will:
- Support the day‑to‑day running of the café
- Lead shifts and be a strong presence on the floor
- Help build, support and develop the team
- Create a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
- Keep standards high across service, food and environment
- Support rotas, stock, labour and daily organisation
- Follow and improve systems and ways of working
- Keep communication clear between kitchen and floor
- Step in during busy periods and keep service flowing
Who You Are
You’re positive, reliable and people‑focused. You enjoy working closely with a team and take pride in doing things properly. You’ll fit well here if you:
- Have experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager
- Enjoy being on the floor and leading by example
- Stay calm and solution‑focused during busy service
- Communicate clearly and with respect
- Are organised and structured in how you work
- Take initiative and ownership of your shifts
- Care about people and team culture
- Enjoy creating a great guest experience
The Fego Way (How We Lead)
At Fego, how you show up matters. We’re looking for someone who:
- Leads with kindness and generosity – supports the team and creates a positive environment
- Brings energy and presence – someone people naturally follow
- Acts with integrity – fair, honest and consistent
- Listens and adapts – open to feedback and aware of their impact
- Keeps standards high – cares about the details and consistency
- Is hands‑on and supportive – leads from the floor, not from the side
- Has a “can and will” attitude – finds solutions and takes ownership
- Communicates clearly – keeps the team aligned and confident
- Stays organised – uses structure to support the team and service
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + TRONC
- Free meals and drinks on shift
- Team discount for you, friends and family
- Daytime‑only hours
- Training, support and development
- Opportunities to grow within the Fego group
- A supportive, positive team culture
Why Fego?
Because it’s about more than just running shifts. It’s about creating a place where:
- guests feel comfortable and welcome
- teams feel supported and proud
- people enjoy coming to work
