Hello Education is delighted to be supporting a fantastic local Primary School in Middlesbrough to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is a fantastic opportunity to kick off the year by supporting young learners at a crucial stage in their development. As an HLTA, you'll take on additional responsibility within the classroom, supporting pupils across the school, including those with additional and special educational needs, and delivering lessons when required.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to pupils' academic, social, and emotional development while gaining valuable experience in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with varying academic abilities and additional learning needs.
  • Deliver planned lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required.
  • Work across KS1 and KS2 to provide consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a calm, nurturing atmosphere.
  • Help prepare learning materials and resources to enhance classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure high-quality provision.
  • Encourage pupil participation, independence, and confidence.

Person Specification

  • Have experience working with children in a UK-based school setting.
  • Hold a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
  • Demonstrate strong KS1/KS2 curriculum knowledge.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Show patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
  • Hold, or are willing to obtain, a valid Enhanced DBS certificate.
