Travel Writer

We are seeking a talented and passionate Travel Writer to join our dynamic editorial team. The ideal candidate is a curious, resourceful storyteller with a deep love for exploration and the ability to craft compelling, accurate, and engaging content across various platforms. You will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing articles, guides, and features that inspire our audience to travel and explore the world.

• Content Creation: Research, write, and submit original, high-quality travel articles, destination guides, itineraries, reviews (e.g., hotels, restaurants, tours), and features on deadline. Ensure all content is well-researched, fact-checked, grammatically correct, and aligned with our brand voice and editorial standards. Optimize content for SEO to maximize reach and visibility.
• Research & Interviews: Conduct in-depth research on destinations, cultural trends, travel logistics, and relevant topics. Perform interviews with experts, locals, and travellers to gather unique insights and perspectives.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial, photography, and marketing teams to develop content strategies and visual storytelling. Participate in content planning meetings and pitch fresh, innovative travel ideas.
• Editing & Revision: Revise and edit your own work and, occasionally, the work of freelance contributors. Respond effectively to editorial feedback and implement necessary changes.
• Travel (Optional/Project-Based): Undertake press trips or assigned travel to gather first-hand material, take original photos/videos, and immerse yourself in the destination (this will be determined by specific assignments).

• Genuine passion for travel, cultural exploration, and storytelling.
• A high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and professionalism.
• Comfortable with the use of digital tools and social media for content promotion and research.

• Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as a professional writer, journalist, or content creator, with a strong portfolio showcasing published travel-related work (print or digital).
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and formats.
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices for content creation.
• Excellent research, fact-checking, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress.

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
