HELLO! is looking for an Online Royal Correspondent for a fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part of our editorial team, responsible for generating and delivering exclusive and high-quality royal content across our digital platforms.
Location: London (Hybrid) – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in the London Office, Monday & Friday WFH.
Contract: Fixed-term cover.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the royal live blog with live news feeds.
- Generate and write compelling royal content, including breaking news pieces, exclusive stories, in-depth event features and original interviews that drive significant traffic and engagement.
- Nurture and develop a robust network of royal contacts, including experts, palace aides and PR professionals to secure scoops.
- Attend relevant royal engagements and events as required, being first on the scene to secure the next major royal scoop, often under tight deadlines.
- Stay meticulously up-to-date with the latest royal news and affairs, writing in various styles and tones to suit different audiences and platforms, from snappy, instant articles to comprehensive, in-depth features.
- Collaborate closely with section editors and the wider digital team to develop content strategies that significantly grow and engage our core audience.
Your profile:
- Proven experience as a reporter or correspondent covering high-profile figures, ideally the British Royal Family, within a fast-paced news environment.
- Exceptional news-gathering skills and a strong track record of securing exclusive stories.
- Experience gathering statistics and producing data-driven content.
- Impeccable writing and editorial skills, with the ability to turn around clean, engaging copy quickly.
- Experience in covering breaking royal news is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Comfortable appearing on camera for social media and Substack.
- Comprehensive understanding of media law and the IPSO Editors' Code of Practice.
- Resilient and flexible approach to working hours, including a willingness to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis, as dictated by the 24/7 nature of royal news.
