Your mission is to help create first-class content to be viewed by millions. With a focus on news reporting, longform and vertical shortform, the ideal candidate will have multi-platform experience and the editing skills to match. We’re looking for someone comfortable in a fast-paced newsroom, able to apply platform-specific editing strategies to ensure every video we upload achieves its full potential.
From elevating our suite of podcasts to identifying shortform opportunities, this role has a variety of responsibilities but with consistent narrative crafting at its core. We are at the forefront of royal, celebrity and lifestyle news. As a weekly publication, we look to give our readers and viewers an experience that sets us apart. Key Responsibilities- Curating and editing news stories plus magazine exclusives to live across all platforms.
- Help the brand to react to breaking news through video effectively.
- Utilising platform knowledge and experience to inform editing style.
- Work with publishing editors to identify trends, stories and create original videos to complement our trusted coverage.
- Helping scale our YouTube output, both shortform and longform, to meet modern audience habits.
- Audio mixing capabilities and podcast editing for our growing suite of channels.
- Quickly assemble edits and implement notes.
- Stay organised and ensure all finalised video assets are stored correctly within our servers with the accompanying correct metadata.
- Ensure subtitling is turned around quickly and correctly.
- Get involved in the creative process, contribute ideas and creative solutions where relevant and be across industry trends.
- Keep up to date with editing workflow and AI innovations to ensure we’re adopting the best procedure and workflow.
- Build edit and graphic templates for our recurring series.
- Passionate about news, editing and building a narrative.
- You are an active listener and you love teamwork and collaboration.
- Can take feedback well even if an idea ends up on the cutting room floor.

- Experience gained working in a fast turnaround environment with a digital publisher, newsroom or agency.
- You understand the big picture but equally being happy to perform some of the more basic tasks such as screen grabs and organisational housework.
- Happy working the odd weekend and evening when the need arises.
- You are well organised, you can manage your own time effectively and quote accurately when asked how long a piece of work will take you.
- You are very social media savvy and keep up with what content is king across multiple networks.
- You’ve created successful content across social media which has brought in the views.
- Advanced level using Adobe Creative Cloud apps but an expert in Premiere Pro, great with Photoshop and you have a solid grasp of After Effects.
- Understanding of usage and clearance requirements for music, images and footage.
- You have an understanding of colour correction using Premiere Pro/ Da Vinci.
