Your mission as Art Editor is to be the guardian of the HELLO! visual identity. We are looking for a creative powerhouse with a highly tuned, elevated women's luxury aesthetic. You will bridge the gap between concept and execution—crafting mood boards, directing visual flow, and ensuring the magazine’s "look and feel" remains sophisticated, fresh, and flawless every single week alongside the Picture team.
Key Responsibilities
- Visual Strategy: Oversee the layout and aesthetic coherence of each issue, ensuring visual storytelling aligns perfectly with editorial goals and our premium brand identity.
- Creative Management: Lead the design process from initial concept through to final production, collaborating seamlessly with editors, photographers, and illustrators.
- Daily Excellence: Ensure all pages are delivered to a high standard, meeting daily production deadlines and pivoting quickly based on priorities set by the Editor and senior leadership.
- Brand Stewardship: Maintain the "luxury" DNA of the magazine while innovating layouts to keep the reader engaged.
Your profile
- The Expert: An experienced Art Editor with a background in high-end lifestyle or women’s luxury publications. You thrive in small, fast-paced teams.
- The Eye: You possess a sophisticated eye for high-quality imagery and a deep understanding of typography, pacing, and colour.
- The Professional: Confident, decisive, and capable of maintaining creative excellence under the pressure of tight weekly schedules.
- The Collaborator: You know how to take a seed of an idea from an editor and bloom it into a stunning multi-page spread.
Experience
- Essential: Proven experience in a design role at a major consumer magazine or similar publication.
