Description
We are looking for a reliable and engaging Support Worker to provide 1:1 community support to a 20-year-old autistic young man with a PDA profile.
Location
Wimbledon, SW19
Shifts
Tuesdays, 10:00am–3:00pm (5 hours per week)
Pay/Rate
£14.80 – £15.50 per hour (varies by assignment and experience)
About the Role
The successful candidate will support a bright and articulate young man to access the community, build confidence, develop social skills, and work towards greater independence. This is a long‑term, ongoing package and consistency is important. Activities may include:
- Planning and enjoying days out in the community
- Supporting social and life skills development
- Encouraging participation in hobbies and interests
- Building confidence and independence
- Driver with access to a car
- Experience supporting autistic young people
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, PDA profiles
- Ability to balance encouragement with clear, respectful boundaries
- Reliable and able to commit long term
- Good sense of humour
- Interest in music and community‑based activities
- Patient, engaging, and creative approach to support
