WE ARE HELLO CHARLIE

We create visual content for Broadcast, Live Events, Music, OOH, Commercials, Branding and Digital Media.

Over the last decade Hello Charlie has grown in reputation into a formidable alliance of creatives, designers, producers, digital artists and film makers.

With studios in Bristol and London, we work closely with production companies, agencies, artists and brands.

We forge ideas from initial concept through to completion, engaging with the client at every stage to ensure overall creativity, unity and vision.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Creative to join our London studio, becoming part of a collaborative, ideas-driven environment where bold thinking, craft and creative ambition sit at the heart of everything we do.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, we are looking for a talented and highly skilled individual who can bring vibrancy and energy to the role.

You will need to be driven with experience of creating pitch winning design solutions to the highest standards.

You will be engaged across a wide scope of work including brand-oriented creative projects for global clients.

Creative thinking, ideas, and concept origination are vital to the role as much as being able to realise those designs, bringing brands to life to engage with their audiences.

The Senior Creative would be responsible for managing multiple, various sized design projects from concept to delivery with team members and external support across different clients.

They would have some experience of managing a small team beneath them, mentoring to develop the skills of the team and be a good communicator.

Able to own responsibilities and be accountable for them.

As well as being used to the agile, fast pace of the event and broadcast industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualise, create, develop and pitch new innovative ideas
  • Lead the conceptual development of creative ideas — from blank page to fully realised pitch
  • Able to work effectively with other departments ensuring you maintain professional relationships throughout
  • Work collaboratively with producers, strategists (new business) and other departments to bring ideas to life
  • Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously with fast turnaround
  • Confidently present and articulate ideas to clients, shaping discussions and managing feedback
  • Be responsible for creating a positive working environment for colleagues from a diversity of backgrounds and experience
  • Deputising where appropriate for senior team members
  • As well as working on up-and-coming pitches or design challenges, you’ll be required to oversee work produced by other designers, as well as develop them, so must maintain accuracy and creative flair of their output
  • Ability to use After Effects to progress ideas, test animation of concepts.
  • Balance ambition with feasibility — understanding scope, timelines and budgets from the outset
  • Ensure that work is completed within time and budget. Able to flag any concerns at the outset of a project
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging tools and competitor activity, keeping a constant finger on the pulse of creative and technological developments.

Actively share insights with the team and represent the studio at key industry events to ensure our work remains fresh, relevant and forward-thinking.

  • ATTRIBUTES
  • A naturally conceptual thinker who leads with ideas, not software
  • Passionate about storytelling through motion, brand and immersive experiences
  • Curious, culturally aware and inspired by emerging trends in design, media and technology
  • Confident in presenting, defending and evolving creative ideas
  • Strong creative mind with skills to realise designs
  • A passion for design and aspirations to grow with Hello Charlie
  • Able to hit deadlines and own their responsibilities on projects in creating and delivering effective design creative
  • Ability to interpret clients’ ideas and add value to them
  • Effective communicator internally across your team and to other teams
  • Flexible and open to travel when required
  • Excited to grow creatively with Hello Charlie and contribute to shaping our creative future
  • Keeps up to date with industry innovations and motion graphic trends

  • Strong creative portfolio demonstrating concept-led thinking across motion, broadcast, live, brand or 3D
  • Advanced understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Expert in the understanding of layout, typography and high attention to detail
  • Experience in design logos from client brief
  • A flair for typography that is evident within their work
  • Branding and brand strategy are not essential but would be an advantage
  • Although this role is not overly focused directly at CGI animation it would be an advantage that the candidate would have a strong understanding of how to integrate CGI within their work.
  • It would be valuable, but not essential to have experience directing shoots
  • Used to working within parameters of existing brand guidelines
  • Delivering high quality motion graphics from Editorial Brief
  • Leading a creative team, mentoring junior members of the team
  • Managing your own work loads and projects
