The predicted salary is between 35100 - 42900 Β£ per year.

To provide a responsive and high-quality generalist HR service across our international business, with particular responsibility for payroll coordination, performance management, learning & development.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate monthly payrolls across the Group including: preparing and checking payroll information and liaising with external payroll providers and Finance.
  • Respond to payroll queries and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain clear payroll processes, records and recurring deadlines, ensuring changes are captured, approved and communicated accurately.
  • Work with HR Advisors to action approved payroll-related changes accurately and on time.
  • Ensure other HR Advisors are trained in payroll processing to cover during absence.
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day administration, configuration and continuous improvement of Access Learning, our LMS platform.
  • Coordinate standardised Group-wide learning activity, including mandatory and compliance training, new starter learning, career development and CPD.
  • Work with HR Advisors, managers and subject matter experts to develop and maintain consistent learning content, pathways and guidance.
  • Monitor learning completion and use Access Learning and PeopleHR data to identify gaps, issue reminders and provide clear reporting to managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Support managers to use learning pathways, compliance reporting and development tools effectively.
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day administration, configuration and continuous improvement of our Performance Management system within our HRIS (PeopleHR).
  • Provide training on the use of the performance management system for line managers.
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance management system through automation.
  • Ensure outcomes of performance management meetings align with the Access LMS.
  • Work with the Group HR Director to produce a monthly report on key HR metrics.
  • Automate the reporting process using data from PeopleHR and Access LMS.
  • Maintain accurate and secure HR, payroll and learning records, in line with internal processes, information security and data protection requirements.

Additional responsibilities

  • Support the wider HR team during busy periods and provide cover across generalist HR activities where required.
  • Support HR projects, continuous improvement activity and wider HR team priorities as required.
  • Respond to ad hoc business needs as and when they arise.

Key requirements

  • Practical experience of preparing or coordinating payroll, including working with external payroll providers across different countries.
  • Experience of coordinating learning and development or employee training programmes.
  • Experience of using HRIS and Learning Management systems (LMS) and proven track record of improving processes through automation.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and key HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience of working across an international or multi-site business would be advantageous.
  • Strong aptitude for working with data from HRIS, LMS and payroll systems.
  • Awareness and compliance with information security and data protection requirements.

Qualifications and skills

  • CIPD qualification or relevant HR experience.
  • Payroll or L&D qualifications or training would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Confident working with numerical information and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Approachable and confident working with employees, managers, senior stakeholders and external providers.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of a growing international business.

Group HR at Hellios is a busy team that works with and supports all subsidiaries throughout the Group. This is a varied generalist HR role, but the postholder will take particular responsibility for coordinating payroll, performance management, learning & development. The postholder will work closely with external payroll providers, advisers and colleagues internationally. They will need to be highly organised, comfortable managing recurring deadlines and confident investigating queries or discrepancies. At some time in the future, our payroll processes may change to work with one global payroll provider.

The postholder will also play an important role in supporting employee development across Hellios, helping to coordinate mandatory learning, new starter development, career development and wider learning initiatives. A key objective will be to standardise our learning materials and automate our processes through Access LMS. The role may occasionally require flexibility in working hours to support teams outside the UK. There will be a requirement to work in the office three days per week, with two days working from home in line with Company policy.
