Business Intelligence Analyst

Location: Oxford Office

Reporting To: Head of Specialist Solutions

Job Summary

To gather customer reporting requirements and translate them into actionable intelligence, collaborating with data scientists and systems engineers to develop reporting specifications, support data architecture, and ensure accurate, timely delivery of insights.

Customer Success & Service Delivery

  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their reporting requirements, translating business needs into actionable insights.
  • Monitor changes to regulatory frameworks and the evolving risk landscape, providing customers with forward‑looking insights rather than reactive responses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key buyers, building a deep understanding of their strategic use cases and how reporting solutions can support them.
  • Design and deliver training programmes for customers who wish to become advanced reporting users, ensuring materials are comprehensive, accessible, and kept up to date.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, supporting them through changes to reporting requirements and helping them derive maximum value from available dashboards and data.

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Develop clear, structured reporting requirement specifications that enable data scientists to build and deliver complex dashboards efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and technical teams to ensure specifications are fit for purpose, unambiguous, and aligned with both customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Standardise dashboard frameworks across industries where appropriate, balancing global reporting requirements with local regulation.
  • Implement and maintain a process for continuous improvement, ensuring that reports, dashboards, and underlying datasets remain aligned with questionnaire changes and evolving business needs.
  • Contribute to data architecture discussions to ensure the reporting infrastructure supports scalable, high‑quality analytics delivery.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in detailing reporting requirements so that they can be effectively developed.
  • Experience of managing large datasets in a high‑quality analytical service environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work as part of the team to meet deadlines.
  • Proven delivery of defined targets and deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a growing business.
  • Awareness and compliance with information security standards.
  • Experience in a customer‑facing role.
  • Working knowledge of procurement processes within large buying organisations (desirable).

Systems & Technical Support

  • Support the maintenance and management of reporting systems, working with technical teams to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to data architecture planning, ensuring datasets are structured to support the delivery of standardised and bespoke reports.
  • Liaise between customer‑facing and technical teams, acting as a bridge between commercial requirements and technical execution.
  • Maintain awareness of and compliance with information security standards throughout all aspects of the role.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Aptitude for data analysis, with experience of tools for data management including MS Excel and BI tools.
  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with confident use of business language in client‑facing contexts.
