Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - The Role: The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer plays a critical hands-on role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of injection moulding, extrusion, automation, and facility equipment. You will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, first-fix repairs, and accurate documentation through our maintenance management system. Working closely with the Maintenance Team Leader and Production Team Leaders, you will contribute to asset uptime, quality performance, and continuous improvement while developing technical foundations for future leadership roles.
Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all maintenance tasks in line with site safety procedures, risk assessments, and legal requirements, performing dynamic risk assessments before each job
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns across manufacturing and site services, ensuring permanent and robust fixes with accurate documentation
- Execute planned preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Apply strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex faults
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient factory operation and maintain accurate data integrity in maintenance systems
Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer - You:
- Hold an ONC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent engineering qualification with a completed apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline
- Have experience working in manufacturing or processing environments with strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Possess demonstrated fault-finding capability on electrical systems and competence with pneumatics, hydraulics, and variable speed drives
- Are proactive and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical colleagues
- Demonstrate calmness under pressure and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork
