We are seeking a talented and versatile Studio Manager/Engineer to join our Helix Records and Payday Publishing team. The role will involve maintaining our brand new studios and office in Central London, managing the studio calendar, engineering sessions on a case by case basis, providing technical and some creative support for writers, producers and artists, and collaborating with various teams within our organization. Additionally, you will support the A&R team in organizing and facilitating sessions and writing camps, and support the General Manager in running of the building.
Responsibilities
- Maintain studios to a high standard and aid in keeping the building at large operational.
- Manage the studio calendar efficiently, coordinating sessions and other events to ensure optimal utilization.
- Manage/schedule other part time engineers as needed for out of hour sessions.
- Provide high-quality engineering services to the publisher or label including recordings, mixing, mastering.
- Provide technical support to users in the recording studios, offering assistance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Collaborate with the A&R team, leveraging your knowledge of our rosters to assist in organizing engaging sessions and writing camps abroad (Ibiza, Paris, Cornwall and more).
- Build strong relationships with our talented writers, producers, and artists, serving as a trusted liaison and conveying their suggestions and concerns.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in sound engineering to continuously enhance our services.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise as a Sound Engineer or Studio Manager, ideally within a professional recording studio environment.
- Knowledge of audio equipment, vocal chains, signal flow, recording techniques, and studio operations.
- Proficiency in Pro Tools, Logic, Dolby atmos Renderer, and other digital audio workstations (DAWs), recording consoles, outboard gear, and studio software.
- Troubleshooting skills, able to effectively address technical issues and provide support to studio users.
- Extremely strong organizational and time management abilities, efficiently managing tasks and prioritizing accordingly.
- Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and nurturing relationships with writers, producers, and artists.
- Embody a passion for music, with a broad understanding of various genres and a discerning ear for sound quality.
