Our Subsidiary, Firetecnics Systems has a fantastic opportunity as an AOV Service Engineer.

Role overview: Firetecnics is seeking a dedicated Service Engineer who will be responsible for the servicing, testing, and breakdown support of AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) systems across a wide range of client sites. You will diagnose faults, recommend actions, and carry out repairs or replacements to ensure systems remain reliable and compliant. The position involves maintaining fire alarm and smoke venting systems in occupied developments, including emergency call-outs, in line with client contracts and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, and repair AOV systems
  • Diagnose faults and recommend corrective actions
  • Replace or repair faulty system components to minimize repeat issues
  • Ensure systems meet relevant standards: BS5839, BS5266 & BS7671
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota (currently 1 in 4 weeks)
  • Liaise with building managers, property managers, and internal departments

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Knowledge of smoke ventilation systems, inverters, dampers & detection systems
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Computer literate with good communication skills
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and team-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Smart, professional appearance and attitude
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
  • Electrical engineering background preferred
  • Familiarity with BS5839 and BS7436 standards
