About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Sales Manager to join our growing sales team. This role focuses on developing upgrade and refurbishment opportunities within our existing customer base. You will be responsible for surveying customer sites, identifying upgrade requirements, producing compliant design proposals, and managing projects from quotation through to completion.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fire alarm systems design, British Standards (BS 5839), and project management principles, alongside a proven track record in achieving sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed site surveys of existing customer premises to assess fire system condition and identify upgrade or compliance opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotations, and designs in line with BS 5839 and other relevant fire safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the sales team and internal project team to develop technically accurate and commercially competitive proposals.
- Manage project delivery from order through to completion, ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, and profitability.
- Work closely with the maintenance and service teams to identify and convert upgrade opportunities from existing service contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, quotations, and sales activity using the company CRM system.
- Meet or exceed monthly KPIs, including: Sales revenue targets (monthly/quarterly), Number of quotes issued, Number of customer/site visits.
- Build strong relationships with customers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to promote company products and services.
- Stay up to date with fire industry regulations, standards, and technology developments.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in fire systems sales, project management, or design engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems, ideally within a maintenance or upgrade environment.
- Working knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266, and relevant fire safety legislation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a target-driven environment.
- Full UK driving licence (company car allowance provided).
