Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before? Founded in 2013 by Dwayne D’Souza, HeliosX was built on a simple but powerful idea: healthcare should be easier to access, faster to receive, and centred around the individual. From day one, we’ve grown without external funding; scaling profitably through technology, disciplined execution, and deep medical expertise.

We’ve earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through category-leading products and well-known brands, including MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A key driver of our success is vertical integration; we operate our own manufacturing and proprietary products, led by in-house medical teams, researchers, and pharmacists at the top of their fields.

In 2025, HeliosX treated more than 1.7 million patients globally and reached £781m in revenue, representing +337% year-on-year growth and cementing our position as the clear market leader in the UK. This is growth with measurable, life-changing impact at scale. Today, we operate across four international markets, with successful launches in Germany and Canada and continued expansion in the US.

2026 is another significant year for HeliosX. Our ambition is to surpass £1.1bn in revenue, continue expanding thoughtfully into new international markets and broaden our condition and treatment portfolio. As we scale, we're focused on building the technology, operational excellence and clinical capabilities that will support sustainable long-term growth.

About the role: We are looking for talented and experienced Senior Software Engineers to work on our range of successful eCommerce sites and pharmacy technologies, to help sustain our trajectory of rapid growth. Our stack is Next.js with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and GraphQL, we build component libraries with Storybook and to share behaviour between our sites; and we use AI to enhance productivity. We operate in an Agile way and encourage innovative thinking in everything we do.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and build engaging, responsive web interfaces using TypeScript, React, and modern frontend technologies
  • Collaborate closely with Growth, Product and Design to translate requirements into exceptional user experiences
  • Own front-end feature delivery
  • Contribute to our guilds, sharing knowledge and shaping practices across HeliosX
  • Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage
  • Participate in code reviews, providing thoughtful feedback to maintain high quality standards
  • Continuously improve our products based on user feedback, data, and your understanding of the skincare domain

Who you are:

  • You use AI to enhance productivity
  • You have 3+ years of experience building modern web applications with TypeScript and React
  • You have strong fundamentals in HTML5 and CSS3, with an eye for responsive, accessible design
  • You're passionate about creating great user experiences
  • You thrive in small, autonomous teams where you can take ownership and make an impact
  • You're a strong communicator who collaborates effectively with Product, Design, and Clinical teams
  • You care about code quality, but you're pragmatic and know when to ship versus when to perfect
  • You're customer-focused and motivated by building products that genuinely help people

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with design systems and component libraries (Pebble, Radix UI, Storybook)
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS or other utility-first CSS frameworks
  • Knowledge of Next.js or other React meta-frameworks
  • Previous experience in healthcare, telehealth, or DTC eCommerce
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Experience working in high-growth startups

How to prepare for a job interview at HeliosX

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If HeliosX uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
