Job Description

The Opportunity:\\n\\nAs a Side Effects Management Nurse in our UK weight loss service, you will be a senior clinical voice, setting the standard for clinical excellence, patient safety and wellbeing within the clinical team. This role will work closely with HeliosX’s Ops Team Leads & GP Leads to provide safe and effective care to our UK patients.\\n\\nThe right candidate will be experienced in triaging unwell patients in a primary or secondary care environment and a confident and compassionate communicator with excellent patient care skills.\\n\\nPreference is for this role to be full time (4 long days/week), including 1 weekend per month. The full time hours shifts would be between 10am - 8pm.\\n\\nThis role is a 6 month remote contract, with a requirement to come to the London office on occasion (2-3 times per year) for training and workshops.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\nClinical Support & Patient Safety\\n\\n * Work remotely using our EHR (secure Electronic Health Records System)\\n\\n * Triage and manage patient-reported side effects, including identifying red flag symptoms and initiating appropriate action or escalation.\\n\\n * Provide high-quality clinical advice, guidance, and reassurance to patients regarding their treatment and side effects.\\n\\nClinical Risk Management & Escalation\\n\\n * Proactively identify, document, and escalate any clinical concerns or potential patient safety risks to the appropriate clinical lead or GP or healthcare facility.\\n\\n * Provide GP communication as required.\\n\\n * Liaising with Secondary healthcare facilities when referrals are required.\\n\\n * Participate in root cause analyses or case reviews following incidents or near misses, contributing to learning and service improvement.\\n\\n * Adhere to internal clinical governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management protocols.\\n\\nWhat You’ll Bring\\n\\nQualifications:\\n\\n * NMC registration\\n\\n * Prescribing qualification desirable but not essential\\n\\nExperience:\\n\\n * 5 years direct clinical patient care experience, preferably with triaging, emergency care, urgent care or diabetes/obesity management in primary or secondary care\\n\\n * Experience in following clinical pathways/protocols\\n\\n * Experience handling medication side effects, red flag symptoms, and clinical escalations\\n\\nCore Skills:\\n\\n * Excellent clinical judgement and patient risk assessment skills\\n\\n * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills\\n\\n * Strong attention to detail and accurate clinical documentation\\n\\n * Confidence working autonomously in a fast-paced, digital-first healthcare environment\\n\\n * Compassionate, calm, and patient-centred approach\\n\\nWhy work with us?\\n\\nAt HeliosX, we want to improve healthcare for everyone, and to do this we need a team of brilliant people who share that ambition.
