About the role

At Helios X, we're looking for a meticulous and driven Lab Assistant to play a critical role in our Leamington Spa Hub.

This is not just a lab-based role - it's an opportunity to become a guardian of quality, hygiene, and precision in a fast paced pharmaceutical setting.

This role is based onsite at our Leamington Spa Hub, the working hours are Monday Friday 9am 5pm.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Set up the clean room and ensure all tools and apparatus are thoroughly cleaned
  • Maintain biological integrity and equipment hygiene at the beginning and end of each day
  • Take responsibility for ingredient handling in the clean room
  • Set up machines ready for preparation of products
  • Participate in cleaning procedures
  • Key member of filling and product assembly line ensuring a high quality and consistent product
  • Operate the machines in line with related safety procedures and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with the production, dispensary and the warehouse teams to manage the ingredients and final product
  • Quality control process including collecting, logging and keeping accurate records
  • Assess and report anomalies or malfunctions to the other staff
  • Work in a fast, efficient and controlled manner; ensure the smooth running of the production line that may require frequent standing for long periods of time
  • Packing of the product and ensure it is labelled correctly for distribution; work well as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the product is dispatched on time
  • Assist in daily monitoring of room pressure, temperature, and humidity to ensure the cleanroom stays within legal parameters
  • Proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste and hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH and local regulations

  • Ability to read, follow written instructions and have numeracy skills
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems and issues
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity are essential
  • Attention to detail - verify that all materials on the line meet company standards
  • Basic computer skills; basic understanding of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
  • Good verbal communication with supervisors and fellow workers
  • Experience in a pharmacy, laboratory or manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Ability to wear full personal protective equipment
